Stained Glass

What is stained glass?

Stained glass is a material in glass that has had metallic salts added during the manufacturing process to give each piece it’s unique color and/or texture. The term stained glass is also applied to windows in which the colors have been painted onto the glass and then fused to the glass in a kiln. (1)

Stained glass can be set into wood, zinc or lead frames. The zinc and lead panels are almost always set into a wood frame and then glazed into place. Prime Sash is able to repair all forms of wood sash containing stained or clear glass and is also able to rebuild and repair zinc panels.
